The Cove Palisades State Park is about a 40 minute drive north from the cabins and well worth it for the views. The Crooked River and Deschutes River Canyons meet here to form Lake Billy Chinook where there are ample opportunities to boat and swim. At the top of the canyon (accessed by hike or car), you’ll be astounded by the views. There are trails for every hiking ability, ranging in length from 1/4 mile to 6 miles, and dogs are welcome!

Cove Palisades State Park is a great place to relax on a hot day – on the beach or in your boat. Is fishing more your thing? That’s an option too! Don’t have the equipment that you need? The Coves Palisades Marina (seasonal operating hours) rents out boats and water toys, including water skis, tubes, life jackets and ropes.
